Let’s Do Brunch Wednesday, 29 October 2008
Spring is the perfect time to enjoy the outdoors, and the good news is that you don’t always need to leave the house. Why not ask friends over for brunch? You’ll have the rest of the day to linger and enjoy.

• Throw open the windows & doors, or set up a table outside
• Go to town on the table setting – try a gorgeous table cloth & spring flowers
• Keep the menu as fancy or simple as you like – try fruit salad, pastries, blueberry pancakes, corn fritters with salsa, or frittatas
• Suggest pot luck – ask everyone to bring a plate
• Assign a dress code – party frocks, hats, or garden party

Are you looking for an easy and appetizing spring dip to impress your guests, then look no further. This dip is perfect for spring dinner parties and lunches and is great accompanied with corn chips and a mixture of fresh veggies such as carrot stick, snow peas, broccoli and celery.

* Mix equal amounts of light sour cream and whole egg mayonnaise together in a medium sized bowl. Mix in 1 packet of potato and leek soup mix to taste. Add a bit of parsley and a bit of milk to thin it out if necessary. Place on a platter with crackers, veggies or corn chips… It is just delicious.

Top Dog Friendly Parks Monday, 22 September 2008
With spring upon us and the kids about to break for the term, what better way to get outside, get active and keep the kids busy, then to take your canine friend to a dog friendly park. These parks are designed with dogs in mind and allow your pooch to roam around free in the designated off leash areas.

1. Leichhardt, Hawthorne Canal Reserve.
This is home to the now famous Café Bones, where you can get human food along with a “puppacino” for your precious pup! They also host weekly parties for your pooh to help celebrate their special day.
2. St Peter’s, Sydney Park.
Here the hills are plentiful; your pooch will love running up and down. There are many paths that provide wonderful bike riding tracks as well.
3. Mosman, Sirius Cove.
Dogs are allowed on the sand and there are playgrounds for the kids and BBQs for the big kids.
4. Coledale, Sharkeys Beach .
A great stretch of beach where dogs can frolic in the waves and dig in the sand.
5. Broadway, Victoria Park.
This park allows off leash activity between 6pm-9am.

Your local council website can also assist you with other dog friendly venues in your area.
