Fun In The Sun...
Summer is upon us, and the end-of-year festivities are about to begin. While we’re blessed with plenty of sunshine, it’s important to entertain and socialise responsibly over the hot Summer months. |

Surviving The Party Season
We all await this time of year – the chance to let the hair down and enjoy a few more long lunches than usual. If your social calendar is overflowing and you’re wondering how on earth you’ll arrive at Christmas in one piece, here are some handy hints for surviving the party season.
- You don’t have to attend EVERYTHING. Decide what’s important, and gracefully decline the rest
- Don’t drink on an empty stomach
- Boost the vitamins to supplement your Christmas party diet (vitamin C is great for the immune system & hangovers, and vitamin B boosts energy levels)
- Gentle exercise works wonders for busy bodies
- Schedule some time out
- Enjoy! Remember to view this social time as a joy, not a chore

Get Sun Smart
It’s hard to believe that Summer socialising can cause long-term damage to our bodies, but with a little planning, you can help protect yourself from premature ageing and skin cancer – enjoying yourself even more along the way.
This summer, follow these simple steps to protect yourself from skin cancer:
1. Invest in a gorgeous broad-brimmed hat
2. Wear clothing that offers plenty of coverage – we love long summer dresses & kaftans
3. Sit in the shade – you’ll feel better for it after a long day
4. Wear fitting, UV-protected sunglasses
5. Apply SPF30+ sunscreen at least 20 minutes before heading out in the sun. Reapply every 2 hours
6. If possible, stay out of the sun between 10am & 3pm
7. Sunbeds are a big no-no. If you’re after a gorgeous tan, there are plenty of great tanning creams on the market

Have Fun In Style
Summer is the time to make the most of the outdoors. This month, Coast, makers of beautiful outdoor furniture & accessories, share their outdoor entertaining tips with us:
- Use umbrellas, shade sails and awnings for protection from the elements – consider louvered awnings for maximum versatility
- Outdoor living tends to be more casual, so prioritise comfort. Sofas, armchairs and daybeds make for a relaxing setting
- Outdoor Beanbags & cushions are comfortable & can also be used indoors for extra seating
- Use outdoor accessories such as cushions to connect your internal & external colour scheme
- Choose high-quality fabrics such as Sunbrella® that are soft to the touch, yet specifically designed for outdoor use
